Itinerary
Day 1: Sirimon Gate (2,600m) to Old Moses Camp (3,300m)
- Activity: 3 to 4 hours of trekking (9 km).
- Details: You will be picked up in Nairobi and driven to Sirimon Gate near Nanyuki for registration. The hike takes you through a beautiful montane forest and giant heather zone to the bunkhouses at Old Moses.
Day 2: Old Moses Camp (3,300m) to Shipton’s Camp (4,200m)
- Activity: 6 to 7 hours of trekking (14 km).
- Details: You will hike up into the Mackinder Valley, crossing rivers and entering the alpine moorland zone. Shipton’s Camp offers stunning, panoramic views of the main peaks and is the base for summit night.
Day 3: Summit Attempt & Descend to Met Station (3,050m)
- Activity: 8 to 10 hours of trekking (9-10 km).
- Details: You’ll start pre-dawn (around 2:00 or 3:00 AM) to scramble up the scree slopes to Point Lenana (4,985m) for the sunrise. Afterward, you will descend into the Teleki Valley to Mackinders Camp for breakfast and continue descending the Naro Moru route to spend the night at the Met Station.
Day 4: Met Station (3,050m) to Naro Moru Gate (2,600m) to Nairobi
- Activity: 3 hours of trekking (9 km); 4 to 5 hour drive.
- Details: A brisk, final morning descent through the dense bamboo and virgin rainforest brings you to the Naro Moru Park Gate, where your transport will be waiting to take you back to Nairobi
